PHASE I

1.1 PROBLEM STATEMENT

Manual chain hoist is one of the most popular hoist types used for lots of lifting tasks, starting from lifting heavy equipment in shops and warehouses to lifting engine and other car parts in service stations. Manual chain hoists uses very simple gear system for lifting loads and are so popular because of their ease of use and low price. Normally manual chain hoists are slower, so you must take into account more time for lifting and lowering a load thus it requires more energy when a person is operating it.  Installing a manual chain hoist most of the times is quite difficult and needed to be installed above the ground which greatly limits the number of areas this tool can be used.

1.2 OBJECTIVE
The objectives are a guideline in order to complete this project. This project is conducted to achieve the following objectives:
Ø To design and built a hoist machine that is easy to operate and to lift or lower a load faster.
Ø To design and built a hoist machine which uses less force and better lifting capacities thus reducing the force needed to operate this machine.
Ø To design and built a hoist machine which can be folded or fully disassembled for easier compact storage and easier to transport from one place to another.
Ø To design and built a hoist machine which can be used anywhere and easy to assemble the hoist machine.
